... have struck . I left my garden gate open ONE NIGHT!!!!

The chard was huge (2 1/2' tall) and the beats too. All the beans were just starting to flower,. Everything cropped. Those deer must have had an All night Ball in there.

Oh, so sorry! I hope that they enjoyed your greens as much as you would have!

I think I want a hunting tool for my birthday. Dreaming of venison sausage.

Compound bows make nice birthday gifts :-)
At least you know that the beast ate well.

Oh no. The chard should recover, right? At least they didn't eat the basil.

I am hoping the beans will recover also. I have a very nice 6.5' fence but it doesn't work well unless one closes the door. And here I was and moaning about harlequin bugs.

Ouch - hope it recovers enough to reward you well for all that work. Maybe you can figure out a way to spring load the gate and turn the space into a giant "have-a-heart" trap after the harvest.

Yea I was thinking the spring might be goo. I am bad at closing doors and drawers, My better half's running complaint.

I will be harvesting a few beans tonight,
