Cumin and Coriander are two different things. Coriander is the dried seed of Cilantro and is round like a b-b shot.

Cumin seed is narrow and pointy on each end.

I don't know when to pick the seeds. I always miss mine. This year I intend to wrap some cheesecloth or paper around them to catch the seeds when they dry and fall.
