Odd, I am having the same problem, but I credited it to using seed from last year. There are bees working them so I know they are pollinated, but I have harvested only two cucumbers thus far, and I should have more than I know what to do with. I don't have an answer for you, just sharing what is happening at my house.

If you recognize male and female flowers, you could self pollinate with your finger. Are there no recognizable female flowers? Female flowers have a little fruitlet behind them. The males will not.

Thanks for your suggestion. I haven't seen any bees around at all, now that I think about it. I'll try self-pollinating.

I will take a male flower and strip the petals off and rub the females flowers up and down.. I do that to the squash too. The other thing is to get some mason bee homes and hope some mason bees move in. They are not being effected by colony collapse, or so I hear.

My one cucumber isn't producing well, either. Only one cucumber to date. But I think it's because my tomatoes are doing well, and producing too much shade for the cucumber.

In fact, the idea of just removing a male flower and using it to rub the female flowers is a good one. You don't need the male flower on the vine except for what you're going to use it for. Pluck it off and start rubbing. But don't pluck off the female flowers!

The male flower is good only for the day anyway and the female flower will only be open for the day, so I see no reason not to pluck the male flower. I also do it wit a paint brush but then i get all sorts of polling on the paint brush and it is awful if I am going to save seed. The squashes and the cukes get all mixed up with each over. They might get that way anyway. The Natural Gardener (Austin) plant lady recommended that way to me. My paint brush is usually down the hill in my wood shop and not where I need it. The flower is right there, so that is what I do.

I recall my grandmother saying that if you plant cucumbers in the dark of the moon, you will have tons of flowers, but no cucumbers. (I think it was the dark of the moon, no the light of the moon.)

If you plant cucumbers in the dark, you'll never know quite where they're going to come up!

I'm having same problem but I have bees everywhere
