Or it could be a Gomphrena. The flowers of both plants are similar, but their growth habit will be different.

It's Gomphrena fireworks.
Mine came back this year from a plant I bought last year, plus one more seedling.

Yep, Fireworks. They're blooming in my yard, too. Hope they come back next year.

Save some seeds because they are usually kind of pricey - about $5.00 for 25 seeds.

I'll be sure to save some seeds for the swap. In fact, I grew these from seed and I passed out lots of three inch pots at the last fall swap.

I have a question on what is the best way to collect the seeds. The ones that I grew were from Burpee. Can I take cut flowers and let them dry out that way? Will they go to seed if they are cut? I just cut a bunch of them off yesterday because they were getting too leggy.
