What is purple, orchid looking, flowering tree?

It's a pale shade of purple and has a deep throat like a trumpet flower. It's not Desert Willow because the leaves are quite large, tropical looking leaves. I've seen one or two blooming in the springtime here in Dallas.

I don't have the slightest, but it sounds interesting, and would love to hear when you find out... I thought of Anacacho orchid tree, but the leaves are small.

    How tall is the tree?

Maybe a Paulownia tomentosa or a Jacaranda tree.

Paulownia tomentosa (Empress Tree) -- that's it! Thanks! Doesn't look like it's the tree to plant here in Texas based on reviews by Dave's Garden people.
