Syringa Vulgaris....I got a Lilac!

Hi all
Finally this transplant bought a real lilac. I hope it flowers. Says on the web it grows to zone 8. The "D" site says it is happily living in Garland. 50% off plant sale....couldn't resist and since they moved them into full blazing Sun I am not waiting to see if they go any cheaper.

Carrie....how much sun does yours get? You are my lilac inspiration. Thank you c

Cynthia, when I planted it, it was full sun, but now it is shaded from about four o'clock on. I hope yours does as well as mine has. Good luck !!!!

I am looking for a spot. I've read part sun in different places online. They say it isn't fussy about ph. Do you feed it anything special? c

I have never fed mine, Cynthia. To be perfectly honest, I think the reason it survived from a four inch pot was that I totally forgot about it, and did not mother it to death. I can't really offer a lot of advice because all I did was plant it and water it occasionally when it was so dry. Mine is one tough plant, and I love it. Now you make me wonder if perhaps I should feed it a bit.
