harvested my onions... pretty small but smell nice. I pulled a garlic as well, just to see what it looked like.

Yea, you planted a little late. I bought my transplants in January and promptly planted them and have some huge onions and most are average size. So I would say you lost about two months of growth there.

I planted from sets in fall and they were actually smaller than the transplants I planted in January.

Now I wonder what I would have gotten if I had planted transplants in the fall. I will try this year.
