Is there a native Texas plant that looks like this?

I'm linking to the photo since it's not mine, but I'd like to know about the low, mounded plant with yellow flowers by the sidewalk. It looks familiar but I can't place it.

Apparently this plant is in Africa or Malta.

To begin with, I'm only here because I came for help with EVERYTHING to do with gardening, lol. But, maybe you can see it on Pinterest if all else fails. I just looked there yesterday for yellow flowers. Some have labels that might look like that plant. Good luck!

I'm sure you'll get an answer here though! :)

That's weird. I posted last night to ruth and it's not there now. But yes, I agree, that's it.
