A few photos taken at dawn

Found myself still awake when the sun came up yesterday, so I snapped some pictures. Not much excitement in my garden yet, still waiting on pink twinkletoes, peacock orchid bulbs, dahlias, and late agapanthus, but I wanted to share since I'v enjoyed everyone else's photos this summer...This forum among others has been a real help to me! Thanks everyone.

First up, the amazing man-eating elephant ears...I have about 40 like this one...

And...the plumbago that ate my Mexican Heather...I planted this last summer to fill in a small bare spot in my heather patch...it took over half the bed...

I had beautiful canna this year, but sadly, no camera till now. I'll post more once I get some more blooms.

Very pretty, dahlia, and I love the elephant ears. What variety are they? I see you are in zone 9 --- how far south are you?

I love your EE. Mine can't drink enough water to be that big.

When Carrie said "very pretty dahlia", I started trying to find a picture of a dahlia....LOL

Thanks guys, I have no idea what variety the EE's are, they are all "gifts" from neighbors who no longer wanted them. Some are from a bed that my mother planted before I was born...I have permanent permission to pull all that I see from the yard next door because they are almost impossible to get rid of. I am in Houston, so tons of humidity, they just love it here. Many of them bloomed earlier this year, putting out a large white solid bloom about the size of a corn cob...I have babies growing from offshoots, up to 5' tall giants. They multiply every year, so I have them coming out my ears, no pun intended. I just love them.
