We found this little snake while moving things around in the backyard....please tell me its just a gartner snake! I was to scared to get close to it. Times like these I ask myself why do I garden if I do not like these critters?.....I can do Butterfiles & cats, birds....but SNAKES UGH!!!!

It doesn't look poisonous to me. It doesn't have that triangular head that most poisonous snakes have.

Here is a link that might be useful: Snake Head Comparison

Looks like a Brown snake that lost a fight to a cat.

Texas Brown Snake. They are small, harmless, and relatively common in gardens and yards.

It's pretty natural for dogs to get snakes but I would be sad. Tx brown snakes get 13" long and thier main diet is icky, yicky snails and slugs. I pray for more! PJ
