King Edward yarrow in north TX clay?

A King Edward (achillea x lewisii) dwarf yarrow was an impulse buy off the distressed plant clearance rack at a local Lowes... I was sucked in by that miniature yarrow foliage. Discovered after-the-fact that it would have preferred to go home with someone having sandy, loamy soil. So, has anyone had luck (or failures) growing one of these in Texas blackland prairie clay? Thanks!

Here is a link that might be useful: Achillea x lewisii 'King Edward' yarrow
