Well, it does seem to like our slightly alkaline clay tilled with a bit of compost. Kept it in potting soil last summer where it never became much more than a crescent. Planted along a south-facing wall in February where it has filled out nicely and bloomed sporadically - very cute little plant. Suppose the tomatoes coming up around it are signs we didn't get the compost pile hot enough.

Thanks for the update. That's cute. I have a volunteer tomato in one of my rose beds that looks 10 x better than the seedlings I slaved over and put out in March that got frosted (not counting the ones that outright died). Sometimes you just have to wonder if it's worth trying to fool Mother Nature :-)
