Knock Out Roses caterpillar damage?

I have had these caterpillars eating my Knock Out roses and we had to completely cut away a huge chunk of the bush. They are very camouflaged as they are hiding in a cocoon but come out to eat. Anyone know what they are and what to do about them. I'm in the FW area.

Sorry about the damage to your Knockout roses by bagworms. The sites I looked at say to hand pick them if you can (not easy among thorns) and use Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) sold under several names including Dipel. It's a bacteria that infects only caterpillars.

I know they look unsightly but unless the canes are dead they will leaf out again.
