New info on Methodist Plant

On the Southern Gardening Forum on Aug 14 nancybea atlanta ga posted that she thinks the Methodist plant is Achimenes.

I googled the photos. It has lots of common names. I am not familiar with the plant or the names.

About 20 years ago lady in my neighborhood grew hundreds of Achimenes of many colors in hanging baskets which were placed all over her yard. Those were hybridized varieties I'm sure. I used to see them occasionly in nurseries and catalogs, but haven't noticed them for sale recently. Plants go in and out of fashion it seems.

The pass along plant is most likely a species plant, but I've never heard of it.
