Where has this plant been all my life? It's a very nice plant.
I'm not in Dallas, but as briaustex says I've been growing it since last year when I bought a plant at the San Antonio Botanical Garden plant sale.
About three weeks ago I snapped off the old blooms and it started a whole new bloom cycle and looks great. I cleared the area around it of mulch so I'm hoping some more plants will come up from seed.
I didn't recognize the common name of blue throatwort. The botanical gardens called it purple umbrella plant..
I grow it in about the same conditions as described above.
Thanks braiustex and rose lee, I am goint to put it on my seed order for next year, as pretty as it is, I don't see why nurseries don't sell it. I am not really very good at growing from seed unless I can sow direct. I think I'll buy double the seed and start some inside and others in the ground. I appreciate the replies and advice.
