I know what you mean, Carrie! I'm going to label the cuttings Georgianne gave me and then try to remember it by thinking of 'synthetic denim' and that's it's a euphorbia.

Maybe an internet search would turn up a common name and more info about the plant, but haven't taken time to do it yet.

African milk bush is the common name I know. It's tropical?? Who'd a thunk?

Makes sense, Tally, as it exudes a milky substance when cut or broken. Sticky stuff, too !!!

Evidentally in euphorbias the sticky stuff can cause skin reactions. The reaction can be severe if it gets in the eyes. It seems African milk bush is one that causes less reaction than most. Just wash your hands well if you get the sticky stuff on them lest you rub your eyes. You can read the link within the cactus forum link above for more information.
