Little Elf? Chile Peppers

I just purchased a container of chile peppers from Central Market and now that I have them home I realized I have no idea how to take care of them. Since we just got down to the 60s in the eveing is it still okay to put them outside? They were in the shade at CM, do I need to put them in the shade or can they handle full sun? Hope ya'll are having fun in your gardens today! Christina

Odds are, it'll do better in a pot up here. I'd save a pepper or two or three for seeds, just in case. I've had chilepetines (however you want to spell them) survive for a few years in a pot, but I don't think they're true perennials, not if the cold "cuts" them back during the winter. I think they survive for a few (3-5?) years, then they just die.

That said, I'd love to find out more about "little elf peppers" and possibly get some seeds from you. :)
