I am looking for a

brown tarp, I would settle for a green one but would prefer a brown.
I have one that is brown on one side but silver on the other and I don't want that for what I am going to use it for
I have a stand of huge pines on the south side that I use to make cuttings, start seeds, pot, etc
With all of the rain, I can't get out there as much, so I would like to have a tarp ready to pull up if it is raining.
Has anyone seen either color besides online
Thanks, jolana |

Jolana, I think that Tractor Supply carries one that is brown on one side and green on the other. Jim |

RE: I am looking for a tarp
| | |
| I have had very good luck posting in the "wanted" section of Craigslist. I write something like, "wanted - free green or brown tarp". I received cuttings of plants that I was looking for and volunteer smocks for the hospital ($20 new). You might try it. |

RE: I am looking for a

| AHH HAA Now it's starting to add up. All the extra cash and the time you wanted to stop for zig-zags. |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| How funny. I didn't get it either, until I scrolled back to the original post. |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| Man is that is funny, when I fist red it I was laughing then I started getting paranoid, lol Carol, what are zig zags? |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| Jolana, if I remember correctly, and go wayyyy back into my memory, Zig-Zag is the name brand of the papers that you, uh, wrap your, uh.... dried plant material in. You know.... for cigarettes ! Yeah ! cigarettes ! Now, just so no one gets the wrong idea, I never got close to the stuff.... well, I did get close, that's how I knew.... but my boyfriend knew people who used the papers. Me... never, no way, no how ! patty |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| Denial...isn't that another side effect of pot? |
RE: I am looking for a

RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| Jim, see what you started ...... don't know if Jolana is EVER going to work her way out of this one ..... well, MAYBE with KT's help!!! |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| Yea Jim, see what you started. hahaha I remember the hippy guy on the ad for Zig-Zags in the late 60s. Guys in school thought it was cool to draw it on their notebooks. I guess the worst thing I ever did as a teenager was to go to my friends house one time and sneak out their mom's Ripple. It tasted gross and we only drank a little but we giggled all night. |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
Wait a minute now. All I did, was suggest a camo tarp, after I understood why she needed a tarp. Jim |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| I'm going to tell on myself... Carolann, did you know that the hippie guy was actually a French soldier who broke his pipe in the Crimean War, so tore some paper from his gunpowder bag and used it to roll up some tobacco? And did y'all know that the famous rock band ZZ Top got their name from Zig Zag and Top rolling papers? And did y'all also know that the memory loss side effect is truly short term? *snicker* |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
Did y'all know that I said Carol, what is a zig zag to find out *who* knew and who was the first???? Miss Pollyanna Patty, lol Knittlin, the only thing I had heard maybe knew (can't remember) lol was about ZZTop Listen to Jim trying to be all innocent now, lol When I think *pot*, it is a planting pot, LOL, you are so busted red-handed |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| I also COOK in one, Jolana. |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| HAHAHA, yeah but I don't think of that one, LOL |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| Silly wabbit, pots are for pithing in. (coughing in my sleeve) |
What is happening

| HAHAHAHA, yeah, that's right too, lol |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
..........................all for a simple tarp.................... ;-) how many posts now!?!? J.D. |
tarp
| | |
Well, that explains the brownies. Carrie is cooking pot in her pot, spaghetti sauce? We use zigzags in the OPERATING ROOM! The first time I was working in ENT and the doc asked for a zig-zag I almost fell over. Nah, they won't let us smoke in there, we have to go in the hallway. Really, we use them for ear surgery, like a paper patch on ruptured ear drums. Nothing else works as well. Tally HO! |

| You people are WAAAY too knowledgeable. But thanks for the laugh. I must admit I missed that on first reading and had to scroll back up to see for myself. (I wish I had a stand of trees to hide my hobby.) |
RE: I am looking for a

We're all waiting on our seeds. Tally Ho! |

RE: I am looking for a

| Jolana, that bamboo is a good place to hide your hobby...the leaves have a simlar look.:) Maybe that's why you questioned me about it? LOL! OK, Just kidding. I planted bamboo around the perimeter of my backyard, it hides everything, and everyone compliments on how much privacy I have, not to mention all the garden stakes I can use or build with. All are clumping bamboos so they do not spread, but never thought about what kind of plants I can hide 'among' the bamboo...hmmmm. Kt |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
hummmm I go off an a Boy Scout camping trip
and come back to see this thread!!! I'm SHOCKED!!! What has got into you people?? You all know, we never, ever discuss these things on the interneT!!
|
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| Doesn't exactly look like my evergreen wisteria, but it may be possible. |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| Melva, where do we discuss them? |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| Good question, KT .... so, Mel, where ????? |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| Bamboo makes a good hiding place, Kentuck, but Texas Star hibiscuses (hibiscii?) are better. |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| HAHAHA, remember the lady/man I believe in Houston a few years ago that was busted for TX Start hibiscus. I posted the article here. That was crazy Kt and Carrie, Mel is just being a southern belle and everything is shocking to bells, lol |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| I think the rules are that these things are discussed in person.... like at plant swaps and plant rustlings. Personally, I have no experiance with the rustlings but I know some people who do. (I'm not naming names) Jolana, thank you. I'm feeling more and more like a southern belle, all the time. |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| Hi I was just wondering do you have anything to trade? What kind of plants do you grow? looking for? Thanks Marcie_new |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
Jolana, I remember many years ago I moved a Texas Star hibiscus from the fromt of my houst to the back so it would not be visible from the street. LOL> Such a southern belle, Mel, for not naming names !!!!! |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
He was a landscaper in North Houston. He had the white Texas Star Hibiscus BLOOMING in the front yard. Swat came in, they held him at gunpoint, thought the bamboo growing in the kitchen window was marijuana also. It made the front page. We tried to find out where he was cause we were looking for a white Texas star hibiscus at the time. And last time we bought a couple I was paranoid driving home with it sticking up. Just remember to put THOSE plants in a box when you carry then in & out of the plant trades!! So I'll bake the Alice B. Tolkas brownies with the dried plants from Jolana and we'll all meet and go plant rustling. Try to keep the giggling down. :) Tally HO! |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
Tally, Tally, Tally, you need to quit telling people about my brownies, no one has ever suspected before, lol Yes, I kinda remember more now but still can't believe it and the bamboo??? WTH? |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
mmmmmm brownies...its been a L_O_N_G_ time!! and I could be talked into to the plant rustling!! The trouble with trouble is it started out being fun!
|
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| After we got over the shock of a landscaper being held at gunpoint by swat for Texas Star Hibiscus we couldn't quit laughing. You would think they would train narcotics officers at least to know that it doesn't bloom with big white flowers!! When we bought a couple at Poverty Point nursery we laughed all the way home thinking we were going to be pulled over, so we laid them flat in the backseat. Now, THAT didn't make us look suspicious, pulled over at the side of the freeway hiding plants in the car. So I'm thinking mixed plantings of TX Star, bamboo and false aralia. Though right now the yard is so overgrown we could hide Dumbo back there. And the brownies. Tally HO! |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| Well, just don't steal a car and hide it.. |
Here is a link that might be useful: Greenhouse bust
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
OMG, lol That one comment about the Mom not knowing.... I have 2 cousins and a half sister that wouldn't know a pot plant |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| Think the tarp is going to be big enough, Jolana??? LOL |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
Y'all have me so paranoid, I think I will forget putting the tarp up, LOL If it was up, I could be out there right now, even in the rain, lol I have so many hibiscus, if an untrained person was out here, they might think it is the other, I'm glad I keppt all of the tags, LOL |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
I have the munchies! Tally HO! |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| WOW ..... there's the solution .........name tags...LOL> |
RE: I am looking for a

| That "greenhouse" was on Tucker St. not far from China Grove. "When the sun comes up on a sleepy little town down around San Antone And the folks are risin' for another day 'round about their homes The people of the town are strange and they're proud of where they came" |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| Wow, Kathy quoting Doobie Bros, lol Was it really near China Grove??? LOL |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
Yes, just a few miles north of China Grove. That side of SA is not the safest part of town. Fanicks's nursery is near there also. I have not been there in years. |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
That's too funny! Did they get seeds from ____________? Tally HO! |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| You guys are so silly, everyone knows that pot needs full sun, at least 10 hours a day. And you can't grow it under trees or under a tarp, unless you use high intensity grow lights. Besides that, if you were growing it anywhere near pine trees, it would be unusable. Golly. Cheryl |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
Big pots of pot under lights. With brownies. I just assumed the tarp would be retractable, like the roof at Minute Maid park. Throw it over when the helicopters are circling the back 40. Tally HO! |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| Now that we know 'how' to grow it(thanks Cheryl), when do we get our seeds? |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| don't know how practical this is but... Army Navy Store in Burleson (just south of Ft Worth) has really heavy duty brown/gray, dirt-colored canvas tarps. The 5 x 7 was around $22, & there were bigger sizes up to 9 x 12 which was something like $60-something. |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| Be careful, Jo! I wouldn't want them taking away any of your belongings because of your pot. Read this...Click Here Merry Christmas!! Kt |
RE: I am looking for a
| | |
| ROTFL! Can't believe I missed this thread before today! I remember the story about the Texas Star hibiscus and just felt terrible for the guy :( Not long ago, I watched one of those cable programs about how they find those huge fields. Apparently, pot gives off a specific heat signature on a special camera they have. They just fly around in their little planes looking for it. That's why it's usually grown under a plant canopy. Merry Christmas to y'all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!And don't burn your brownies :) |
