Fall Garden Chores?

I just read where Jim suggested that taking cuttings from turk's cap now and sticking them in the ground will produce new plants for him come next spring. WOW. What could be easier? Now Jim, are these cutting put in full sun or in shade?

I'm wondering if it might not work for those of us further north but its worth a try isn't it?

So what else is good to take cuttings from now and how do you take care of them through the winter?

I was thinking of dividing up my blue mist but read that should be done in early spring, not fall.

What else should we be doing now to prepare for winter and next spring?
