The spot mine did best in had mid day sun and late afternoon shade. I water a couple of times a week so never tried it in a spot with no supplemental water.

I'll look around tomorrow afternoon and see what is shady.

Mine that do the best are in partial shade, and they do require water. I lost two that were in full sun with minimum amounts of water due to their location.

I have one in poor clay soil, full sun, that gets whatever water falls from the sky and once a week (if I remember) in the summer. It's so happy that I need to move it this fall because it can't keep up with the Texas sage that it's planted next to. That Texas sage has gone gangster on me...

Has anyone seen the "Blue Chip" dwarf budds? I would love to plant them in the front beds, but have never seen them for sale anywhere in DFW.

My friend Lin gave me one as a gift a couple or so years ago. I have it in a container, but do not shelter it in the winter. It has been an excellent bloomer for me, and has stayed small. If I can decide on the right location, may put it in the ground next Spring. I do not know where she got this one, perhaps Marshall Grain. Maybe she will weigh in and tell you where to go to get one.

I moved it last night. I think it looks bad because it's dying. The roots weren't deep at all even though this is it's second summer.
