On planting Lacebark elm & Texas ash in limestone

Hello folks,

I live in a part of Austin that has solid limestone rock. So far I have had good luck with Live oaks and Monterrey Oaks. I desperately need additional shade trees and two fast growing, drought tolerant trees that come to mind are Lacebark (Chinese) Elm and Texas Ash. In the view of all the experts here, how would these trees do in such solid rocky environments?

From what I have read, the Lacebark elm is semi-evergreen depending upon location. What are its chances of being evergreen in a place like Austin?

Thanks!
