I don't grow that one but I have Desert Senna --covesii which looks a lot like it. They get seed pods and you could just remove them before they pop. The seedlings I have found aren't invasive and very easy to recognize and pull. The roots I don't know about. What kind of invasive? Thats the kind I usually worry more about, the underground kind.

I wouldn't call it invasive around here. We have a few that volunteered and have done really well in the drought. Their numbers don't increase rapidly and they confine themselves to the harshest part of the yard.

Put it in the crappiest place you have. Here in caliche ridden central texas it grows in caliche washes and on the roadside in the gravel pit area where the road bed runs out. It will grow in xeric soil also in your garden. It loves the hot sun and moisture is not necessary. I am west of Austin in the limestone hills with no soil that is fertile. It is happy here.
