I have two sweet olives that are approximately 14 years old and both of them are blooming today. They have always been fall and late winter/early spring bloomers for me. Their fragrance is unmistakable and you will know they are in bloom by just walking in the vicinity of where they are planted....wonderful garden additions!

I used to post here but have just been lurking lately. My sweet olive has been in the ground on the south side of my house for at least 10 years - is probably 10 feet tall and is blooming heavily now. Right outside my back door - wonderful.

Thanks. Looks like I'll have to wait a couple years for them to get bigger to produce more flowers. I've been to Stephen F Austin Arboretum a few years ago where they had a lot of mature orange ones and the fragrance was all over the place. That was when I had to have one. I was hooked!

I replied to this thread the first day, but it disappeared. Anyway, my Sweet olive is blooming the most profusely ever. A photo of the flowers is on a gallery thread titled: "The Magic of Rain". It gets the run off from the roof, but otherwise doesn't get watered for weeks on end.
