still have hummers?

I was surprised to see my hummers are still hanging around with the cool temps lately. It was 42 Friday night. Do any of you inland folks still have them?

Saw 3 yesterday. I was really surprised too as they are usually gone by now. Also saw a woodpecker, cat bird, goldfinch and a couple others I didn't recognize. So I guess migration is in full force.
Tally HO!

The last I saw of mine was a couple of weeks ago. I so miss them.

I got back from being in Houston for the past 11 days (gallbladder surgery at the Med Center), and when I got home, all the feeders were empty. So I cleaned them and hung them back out, and I have seen a few hummers since.

Migration has definitely started. I saw a huge flow of white pelicans dancing in the sky the other day. I've heard them referred to as the "ballerinas of the sky"! They are beautiful.

Hi Kosse, you know where we are, and we haven't had hummingbirds for two weeks now. When they were here, they were in force! Our Cornell Backyard Bird Watch starts on the 14th of this month, so I hope the migrants get here soon.

I saw a single migrating hummingbird a couple of days ago. It nectared up on my flowers before going on. None stay here in the fall.

I can't seem to attract them here. And I don't speak hummerese so I can't seem to inform them that I have lots of food in my feeder for them! Anyone in DFW speak hummerese? (Or is it hummerish?)

Below is a link to a BBC hummingbird slow motion video that you all might enjoy. Be sure and view it full screen.

Here is a link that might be useful: A marvellous hummingbird display ...

Roselee, that is by far the most amazing animal video I have ever seen. Thanks for posting it. My GS and I have watched it over and over . I have never seen a single pic or read about that hummer
Thanks again

I spotted another one this morning nectaring on Lion's Ear.

I still have some humming around. We often have hummers here on the Coastal Bend that overwinter. So I'm not sure if these I'm seeing are getting ready to make the journey to Mexico or if they are some of the ones that are making Rockport their winter home. You know the term "Winter Texans", right? HA!

Saw what looked to me like a black chinned hummingbird nectaring on green and blue salvia at 7:00 AM on this dark and cloudy morning.

Well, mine are finally gone. They left sometime during the past week. Considering I'm 200 miles inland they stayed a long time. Until next year.

I just went out in the garden and there were hummers out there in force. They ran me off! A hummer war after my Salvia regla was in progress. Five if them . I actually had to duck. I felt my hair part as one screeched over my head. I retreated into my house . I'LL BE BACK....I still have hummers west of Austin.

Like I mentioned earlier, I still have a few hanging out here. One is a buff-bellied and they stay year round here.

Dh saw one this weekend. I don't have feeders, just flowers. I thought they were long gone by now.
