Plant/Weed ID help

| While cleaning up part of the yard that *ahem* got away from me the last few months, I found 3 plants I was wondering what in the world they are. One's a low growing daisy-like flower, one's a tall (~2ft tall), bushy purple daisy-like flower, and the other is a bush (~2-3ft tall) with small white flowers and green berries that ripen to dark purple/black. All are weeds/wild, but I was wondering if any were worth keeping around. :) |

The berries are a weed, pull them out or they will be everywhere! Tally HO! |

| Ditto what Tally said, and while I think they could all be classified as native wildflowers, that doesn't necessarily mean that you would want them in your beds. They will all spread like crazy and choke out or shade out things that you plant. Cheryl |

They look to be common nightshade (1st pic) and aster weed (2nd) My GF called it devil weed, lol |

| I really like the look of the aster weed. I wonder if it would take over in a bed? |

It'll take over the bed, the neighbors bed..... very invasive but pretty if you can keep it under control. Tally HO! |

| It tries to take over here Pam, it is pretty tho. I let it go one year and when I started pulling it up, the root was like a small tree root, lol |

| Out of the three, I would want to keep the white daisy one. I wasn't sure about the berry one (common nightshade?), since some idiot who planned this community planted a similar looking tree that has black berries (Chinese of Japanese something--invasive and generally disliked). The aster weed is pretty, but very hard to pull if you decide to try! It takes out clumps of dirt when I pull them, and it does spread pretty easily! So I'm going to pull the berry plants tomorrow. I was hoping they were something non-toxic, but I don't want to chance my dog getting a hold of some of the berries. :) They're pretty. |
