Ours usually survives with no problems exposed against a north facing brick wall in Dallas. Though last year's multi-day freeze with lows around 13ð knocked it back the worst in over a decade, so might benefit from some coddling/cover during those rare extremes. Since we're in the urban heat island, might also show more damage if you're further out, but think it should survive our typical winters without cover.
