Yes! Just lay them out on your window sill and they'll continue to open.

The same thing happened with our tree. As soon as I see the squirrels or crows take an interest in the pecans, I run out and pick every one they have left. Then, as they open inside, I pull the pecan out of the green husk.

On the chance you don't know this already, be sure to wear a GOOD pair of protective gloves when handling pecan husks or freshly husked shells. Stains from the oils take a couple weeks to wear off of hands or other skin.

That's true. I've found the brown stains stay on the skin a couple of days but on the fingernails until they grow out.

Yes, found out last month that poor quality gloves are worse than none at all. Pin holes in the finger tips allowed the oils to diffuse around the sides of the fingers instead of staying just on the handling surfaces. The parts of the fingers that saw some friction in daily use did clear up in a matter of days, but the sides remained stained much longer. Never tried one friend's suggestion to take sandpaper to them :-/
