The first one looks like an aster. The second one looks like a sedum (John Creech?, Makinoi Ogon?) Omar

I figured the first was an aster, but I was hoping someone knew which one. I've been searching and have a hunch it is broad leaf aster, a non-native, although I found this along the side of a road in a wooded area.

I don't know about the first plant, but the second one looks like sedum "ogon" to me. This sedum has light green/chartreuse leaves. Molly
