| My turnips look "OK" after the freeze. Will both the turnip and the greens still be good to eat? I need to harvest some kale also. Can I cook turnip greens and kale together? |

| All I can answer is the last question. Yes, you can cook turnip greens and kale together. My mother's recipe for "greens" combines mustard, turnip, and kale greens. |

and REALLY like chard and spinach cooked together. |

| Weldon, I love kale roasted with some olive oil and a little rice vinegar, and sea salt to get kale chips - the best food ever! I roast at 300 degrees for about a half hour and will eat all I roast as soon as they're crispy. Just remove the mid-rib as that wouldn't cook as quickly. |

| I have heard of kale chips. Tried them once, but not impressed. I think this recipe might make them more palatable. I had kale/chard today. I wilt the greens in butter and olive oil, then add natural apple juice (I'm allergic to yeast so can't use apple cider vinegar) and less than a tsp of baking soda. I also squoosh a clove of garlic in the butter/oil mix while it's heating. Good Eating! and healthy....all grown in my flowerbeds. AND BTW how did we get off turnips?? I have two or three nice ones ready to pull. |
