That Lavender Perfection is just spectacular! That one gets my vote! This is certainly a nice treat now on such a gloomy day. I love cutting flowers and bringing them into the house.

As good as my intentions are when I plant things, I never seem to get out to dig them up come fall. I've lost glads, my elephant ears and my brugs. I'll have to settle on the photos from your garden until global warming sets in! Very nice, thanks for sharing!

I love dahlias! Lavender perfection looks like a great color. Also, that Garden Wonder dahlia, is that orange, coral or red? It really looks great.

Those are some very nice dahlia pics. I love the 7 footers do you have a problem keeping them up? i have a few tubers that usually get to 5 feet.

I don't have an area that I could have a "real" garden as your photo's portray. Beautiful! I'm envious.

This was my second season of having them grow this tall. This also had been the 2nd year at this location. I don't know if it's the soil, or even the lack of light as the development has a lot of trees on the neighbors properties so sunlight isn't that plentiful.

This development is also a flood plain so everything has to be on raised beds. Several varieties that are known (such as Arabian Night) and unknown grow prolifically. So I'm presuming there are many factors and even though seven feet tall it probably is unnatural.

As this is new to me does anyone know for sure??????????

As to wind damage I use the tall flexible type reeds and tie them with nylon, so they sway with the wind. I check the weather and if high winds are fore-casted (such as a severe thunderstorm)I usually go out and check to see where the weakest points are and then tie until after the storm passes.
