Binghamton Confluence Project

Hello All,

I am looking to start a project to beautify the Binghamton waterfront just before the confluence. I have been in touch with the DOT which is maintaining the land currently, and they have been planning to do something with the spot for a while. Before anything can be done, it has to be run past them. Here are a bunch of pictures of the spot. While I am good intentioned, the only two water loving plants I know are Sycamore and Iris Pseudocoris. What kind of plants would do good in such a spot. It flood fairly frequently, so any plants would have to be tolerant of being submerged now and again. They also made a note that they would prefer native plants. Note that the water is pretty high right now. It is usually about 10 feet lower. This is normal extent to which it rises when we have had heavy rains, but it can certainly come much higher (hence the reason for the levy)
