I can't comment on whether to feed the birds or not but I love the picture. I can't believe your cat is just sitting there watching them and not going after them.

I love your photo! I see no harm in them coming to your feeder. As you said there is no bird flu here yet. If it does come, they will be susceptible to it. I guess it affects big birds like them more readily than small song birds etc.

I just heard about something about bird flu and not letting cats outside(in Asia). It was the news and something like there is a ban on outside cats because that will be the first place it might spread. I didn't hear all of it but I was surprised to hear about the cats.

People do not get bird flu from birds unless they eat them improperly cooked or work and handle them (and their feces) on a frequent basis. Simply having them in your yard will not give you bird flu. Just don't hunt and eat them. Don't let your cat hunt and eat them.

Thanks for that site on updates for the bird flu. I will be able to keep informed. My cats are not aloud to get near the birds. ;-) The cat has seen the turkeys so often, he doesn't bother with them any more.
