I'm going to start a few more seeds myself! If enough snow thaws, I might do a little yard clean-up!

more sowing for me too and maybe I will be able to put fresh water in the bird bath after I dig out the chunk of ice and I can dig the feeder that fell down and got buried in the snow

I actually saw people in shorts and t-shirts today while I was out. Granted it has warmed up quite a bit but not that warm.

LOL gottagarden! I'm sure I'll find some toys frozen in place when I go outside too. My husband picked up a bunch of stuff around the kids' playhouse in the fall, but there are always refugees hidden around the yard.

I pruned my black currant bushes and my monster rose ('Othello') on Saturday - it felt so GOOD to do some "real" gardening on a comparatively warm day. I'll do some more today. I just bought another bag of ProMix to continue winter sowing, too. I think I'll treat myself to an evening of winter sowing tonight.

I saw my first asiatic lilies poking up yesterday - HOORAY! And my crocuses and daffodils are well on their way. Spring is coming, among the piles of dirty melting slush and ice. One warm week, and all that should be gone down here, I hope.

I'm going to be a gardening dervish for a few weeks. I'm having surgery in mid-April, and I'll be out of commission for a couple weeks afterwards. I want to get as much of my heavy yard work as possible DONE before then - all my edging and mulching. Then I can relax instead of looking out my window thinking, "YUCK, I wish I'd mulched/pruned/edged that earlier."
