Lilac buried my snow. Snow turned solid. Will Lilac be okay?

We've had an average winter this year (second in a row) and my Syringa vulgaris lilac tree was buried completely in about 3 feet of snow which turned solid. The snow melted and revealed a lilac that is slightly bent over. The only branch that is broken is the top 3-5 inch portion of one of the twigs and that's because kids kept walking on the snow bank and it snapped. There are no other apparent injuries. Although it looks awfully pale.

Will my lilac recover this spring? If the top growth is dead, will the roots produce new shoots? Thanks a bunch.
