Annuals for NW facing house?

My house faces Northwest and I am looking to plant annuals this spring between some small shrubs that line the front of the house. I was looking at impatiens but are nervous they won't get enough shade, while I'm also looking at petunias, but worried they won't get enough sun. What do you think? Any other ideas? Thanks!

Impatiens would be fine. You just need to water them more if they are in the sun. I take it your looking for annuals for part shade? Begonias might do well. Pansies, violas & Torenia too.
