Yellow flower ID.

Hopefully someone out there can identify a flower for me.

My grandparents had these flowers growing next to their old milkhouse in Western New York. The plants were about 6 feet tall and were topped off with fully double yellow flowers, 1 1/2 to 2 inches across. When my Grandmother would bring some in for the table she always had to shake out the earwings. They would crawl deep down between the petals of the flowers. They were perennial and I believe they could be very invasive if given the chance.

I know this isn't alot to go on, but hopefully someone has some ideas as to what they might have been. I would really like to get some for my garden here in Central New York.

Thanks in advance. cherrylane
