Greetings to all!

We are down by Albany,NY and.....
we have had a flock of robins hanging out in our mountain ash for the past 2 weeks!

It sure perked us up and it's a real good sign that spring will indeed come very soon!

Anyone else have good news to report?

Jean

Robins mean spring, right? Aren't they a bit early? No robins here yet.

The Robin migration has been in full swing for a couple or three weeks now but none at my place. My sign of spring is that my bird bath thawed out enough that i could dump the ice and put fresh water in. OH I also have a squirrel coming into heat. the males just won't leave her alone. LOL!

Well Kareen and Jean, y'all need to send some of those robins our way. It isn't nice to keep them all for yourselves.

I think I want to have a little chat with that groundhog- early spring indeed! ha!
I participated in the great backyard bird count again this year. At the website you can print out a sheet that lists all the birds found in this area of New York. The GBBC always seems to do its count on the coldest days of the year. I only find one or two birds then because it is so cold, but I'll continue marking off the birds I find for the rest of the year just to see how many I can get. No robins yet, but I did get my eagle. They are common around the lake and easier to see in the winter.

If you're interested in birds there will be a presentation on eagles in Portlandville N.Y. March 11th.
