Want to plant a privacy hedge and was set to order wax myrtle but discovered it is not hardy enough for zone 6- any suggestions? Thank you

Assuming you have sun.

I grow viburnum plicatum mariesii.
Grows quickly
no pest or bug problems
white early summer blossoms
red berries in late summer
black berries in fall
nice burgundy fall color
nice foliage
easy to grow!

It's not evergreen, but I haven't found any good, evergreen plants that will grow fast enough for a privacy screen. And even in the winter, the dense branching provides somewhat of a screen.

What size are you planning to set out? How big of a hedge do you need?

Sunlight will be medium shade- I need about 20 ft of hedge- Thanks- Paul

These viburnum should do well in half shade.

What size are you planning to set out? I have many viburnum seedlings and could mail to you, unless you are trying to start with something larger.
