Robert: It really depends on what you're planning on starting and growing.

Some gardeners winter sow their tomatoes- if so, these would just be sprouting about now. I sowed mine indoors a few weeks ago. They're about four inches tall by now. You could sow some veggies outside now that like cool temps like lettuce, spinach, etc. to get an early crop.

I haven't transplanted anything outside yet, but I know some people have planted their lettuce sprouts already.

I'm sure others will come along with more advice.

Hi! I agree with Tracy. Cool weather crops like lettuce, spinach, peas, broccoli and maybe even parsley can be planted now (although I haven't started yet). Other veggies & herbs can be very sensitive to cold temps and frosts. These include tomatoes, peppers, squashes, cucumbers, beans and basil. For these you will want to probably buy tomato and pepper plants already started next month. I usuaully don't plant any of these untill the end of May.
