Can you pot them up? I've done that many times and then planted them in the garden later on.

Planting in pots is a good idea, but I assume by your post that you cannot plant outdoors OR in pots at this time.

What kind of bulbs?! for general bulb/rhizome storage, I pack in barely moistened peat moss, cover, and stash in a cool place.

If you bought pre-forced spring bulbs, I'd pack in peat moss as above and store in the vegetable bin of the refrigerator until they can be planted.
