At my previous home I used a large, plain garbage can. I got one that was tan and that "blended in". If you were artistic you could paint it with a fun design, or even just paint it the same color as your house.

I'd suggest putting a spiget on the bottom of whatever container you choose to use to make getting the water out easier. One what will allow you to add a hose is the best.
If you collect the water screen the top or add skeeter pellets to keep the skeeter population from growing and possibly causing you more harm than the good you are trying to do.

Don't you need rain for rain barrel. It has been so dry in Rochester.

Yep, I've been thinking that jeanie! It has been ridiculously dry! I'm hoping we get some serious rain right after I move in because I ended up digging over 100 plants to move from my current home to my new one! They'll need some watering until they get established! :)
