I'd like suggestions for a dwarf flowering tree, preferably pink, that blossoms a bit later then the redbuds and crabapples.

RE: Flowering trees

hi I have a question, sorry I couldn't find a related forum to ask it on...
Last fall I planted a dwarf japanese maple(suppossed to grow 15x15 feet) in the wrong spot. Because it's only been in the ground for 1 year, I wondered if it would stand a chance if I tried to replant it in a more appropiate spot? Does it have a long taproot? Is 1 year enough time for it to have really laid down a lot of roots? Would it be better if I waited till fall even though that would give it another 3 months of growing time? Or should I just let it remain there until it has totally outgrown it's space and then just waste it? Hate to do that, it's a beautiful tree, not to mention the wasted $
thanks in advance for any input
