Systemic deer repellent experiences?

I just discovered Repellex, a tablet with capsacian pepper that the roots suck up and then flows to the leaf. People in NJ have been using the original formula, the company split into two, now marketed under the name Natura Products. I have heard amazing results from people who have used it and was wondering if anyone in NY has tried it, and what the results were? A Hosta lady in MD said you could take all your netting down and not have to use sprays again. I'm about to do a side by side trial of the two forms. This could be a miracle......

RE: Systemic deer repellent experiences?

Nearly all my plants are deer resistant (salvias and Agastaches) and in the 15 years that I have lived here I have never had a problem with deer eating my plants....even my tomato plants which are interplants with the salvias have survived deer browsing though they do come up to the beds and check out the plants. You can't get a better repellent than that.

In the Hosta forum here at GW and in American Hosta Society publication it was reported that it works, but is prohibitivly expensive when you have a lot of plants to protect and because you have to apply it several times a season.
