something tiny and white ate my Lupins within a few days. At first they looked droopy, I thought because heavy rains weighing down the leaves. The next day the flowers were almost gone. There was tiny whiteish bugs all over them. What could of happened ? How do i handle it next year if it happens again? I am very new to gardening with land flowers.

It sounds like aphids. I had them last year and the year before. They were a pain in the butt!!! They really sucked the life out of the plants.

In preparation for them this year, I planted mint, and alliums, and dill near all of my Lupine. I don't know if it's was because of everything I planted near them or because of the weather, but I didn't have trouble from the aphids this year.
