This may sound like a weird 25th wedding anniversary present, but my husband took me out to Wayside Garden Center in Macedon yesterday after church (per Polly's suggestion). We bought a potted Big Sky Series Echinacea Sunset (orange, pink tones), a 3-stem pot of Orienpet (OT) lily Conca d'Or (yellow), and a small pot of Papaver Orientale Victoria Louise (ruffly salmon pink). It was a nice trip....the prices weren't bad, and it gave us a little taste of what it might be like in the spring when there will be a much bigger selection!
I was HOPING to find a more winter-hardy agastache (LOVED rupestris (orange/fuchsia) a few years ago, but it didn't survive the winter). But to say that any of them would be hardy to zone 5a would definitely be "pushing it!"
Wow, 25 years, definitely an answer to prayer. Phyl
