It's nearly time for fall bulb planting. Where do you get your bulbs? Catalog, or local store? Divide and share with friends?

I usually make the rounds of all the local nurserys. I share in the Spring when they are in bloom so I can see what variety I'm giving away. Tags were lost eons ago!!! Von

| Sometimes catalogs (Brent & Becky's Bulbs and Scheeper's/Van Engelen send very nice bulbs), sometimes locally (if I find really nice bulbs at a good price). If I want something special, I'll order it. If I'm just looking for a splash of color at a distance, I'll go local. Looking at catalogs is great fun. Sometimes local nurseries and Agway-type places get some unusual things, and are usually much better quality than the box stores.

Hi, I was going to say just what Laurel said, same exact catalogs even : ) The only addition I have is, if you do buy some bulbs from the box stores, even if they are in a bag with a picture, they may not be the same color. This happened to me a few times, so I won't buy them any more unless really cheap. Then I plant them where the color won't be too critical. Remy

I just ordered from colorblends. Great choices and service, plus gardenwatchdog was 100%.
