suggestions for very shady front flower bed

I have a bed along the front of the house that is heavily shaded by two large maple trees. RIght now I have impatiens for all summer color in front. behind that I have hostas, jacob's ladder and native columbine. I still have lots of empty spots so I need suggestions for flowering perennials peferably that would work well in this bed. I have tried bee balm and it gets too spindly because it is so shady. Hummingbird plants would be an extra bonus since my gardens are designed more for my hummers.
