Any Black Bear Sitings?

I have a seasonal camp near the Adirondack Mountains and every year about this time we have a black bear come through the park. She usually has a cub with her too. We all take in our bird feeders and such when this is reported. I tried to get a picture of the paw print in the mud but I only had my camera phone to take it with and it didn't come out good. The only thing I did get out of it was having to clean up the bear poop lift by the visit. We asked the park owner about the siting and he said yes, he saw her. He said that she was a small one though maybe 200-300lbs and the cub was very small too. Only as big as my pug. He also said it was so small he didn't think it would make it through the severe winter they have there.

| There was a bear hit by a car crossing the expressway in downtown Bufflao this summer. Don't recall if it was a black bear or brown bear. I recall the reporter stating that they believed it to be a young male going off on its own to establish its own territory. Penny |
