i was recently told that our retirement property is located within a micro climate that is noticably cloudier than the land north of there.the cloud belt is said to be south of rte.11b,outside of malone. our property is ten miles south of the line, and this is not good news at all! is there a way to find out how much sun gets to our particular homesite? i can probably find out the latitude and longitude pretty easily. has anyone heard of this cloud belt and how can i learn more about it?
i can't say for sure that it will impact my decision to build, but it may. i grew up in what was labeled the sunniest village in new york state, and have lived in vermont for 25 years. i'm ready for a little more sun, notless!
