Just relocated to Horseheads, NY

Hello everyone,

I just relocated to Horseheads from Houma, LA. I am in a state of utter shock but assume I will thaw in due time. I am in unfamilar territory when it comes to growing in this weather.

I love growing from seed and have a lot of tropicals that are now in the basement set up under lights and seem to be doing well for now.

Can anyone help me with what I can grow here. The flowerbeds are either covered with snow or brown so I have no idea what is in them other then the daylilies I did notice when I moved in 3 weeks ago.

Any suggestions on books that will help me?

HI, I just moved back from Austin TX. In south we start planting in January here in Upstate NY we start planting in May after the last frost, good luck
