Royal Empress/Palownia Tree in UT

I have read many mixed reviews on this tree. I was wanting to grow one in my backyard, however I can't seem to find out much about them in Utah. Does anyone have one that they've planted? What do you think of it? Have you found it to be very invasive? Do your neighbors hate it?

Hi robingirl. I've never grown them, but will try this year. Most people think the are a weed, but "one man's trash is another man's treasure". I think it would be wonderful having a tree with blue flowers. We'll see what happens. Not sure they will survive in Cache Valley, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

does anyone else have any experience or info about this tree in utah? Paulonia or royal empress tree? Im thinking about planting one- primarily I'd like to know how the tree does with little water and high wind.
